Good performance but needs Bosch arbor

Before I could use the hole cutter I discovered I needed to buy a Bosch power change arbor which I did but when I got it I found that the twist pilot bit was too short and did not extend past the cutting tips, which is pretty important. Bosch evidently only makes a single masonry type of pilot bit that is 7″ long for these hole cutters. A useful pilot bit for masonry but poor for wood or many other materials and increases the amount of time it takes to cut a hole considerably.

It had not occurred to me that this hole cutter with its tail section for the power change arbor means it cannot sit in a standard hole saw kit. The Bosch kit has a case that only holds 5 hole cutter sizes and takes a lot larger case as well.

In theory fast cutters but the masonry bit slows it down and it cannot be added to an existing set of hole saws without buying a new arbor just for this one hole cutter. A better deal is the Blue Boar TCT universal hole cutters which will work with standard arbors, will fit easily into an existing hole saw kit, and actually have more carbide cutting tips (5 vs. 4 teeth) and so is going to last longer.
