This great flashlight is probably the apex of the utility flashlight. As soon as you get it out of the box, you know that this is the last one you’ll ever have to buy - I enjoy that feeling when buying a tool. The second eureka moment comes after you get all 4 D-cell batteries in and you figure out that its heft is about that of a baseball bat should you happen to live in an area with a high crime rate.

got me through the flood
My Maglite heavy duty 4-D has seen me through a huricane and a flood. I order them as wedding and college graduation gifts. These things last forever. PS. I don’t work for them. I’m a homemaker.
