Excellent after mods

I did a LOT of research before purchasing this particular compressor, and despite the issues that some people have had, I still felt it was going to be the best way to go. Its a drag to buy something, then have to fix it out of the box, but after doing the modifications, this little thing is awesome and reliable.

When it arrived, I connected it for 30 seconds to make sure it worked, then got busy working on the issues I had read might be awaiting me … and they were there, sure as heck.

Issue #1: There is a relay in back by the switch and they did a lousy job soldering it; install solderless connectors. Additionally, my relay was bad, so I replaced with better quality. (Open the back slowly and carefully). -$6 fix, 30 min repair-

Issue#2: The connector for the hose is an odd duck, so you may want to tap out the head and replace with one more usable. This is not as tough and frightening a job as you think. do some research. -$5 (connector and fitting), 30 min repair-

Issue #3: the gauge is crap, get rid of it. You can find one made for checking tires (slime brand) at an auto parts store and it screws right in. -$3.99, 1 minute repair-

Issue #4: The power cord. I use mine as on-board air and immediately hardwired using large-gauge wire, so it wasn’t so much an issue for me. However, some have complained about various minor problems. Research and apply your own solution if needed.

After the mods, I agree with the majority that this to be probably the best portable 12v compressor out there. I use it a LOT in my rock crawler.

Google the name and model number; there are several long and detailed threads on 4×4 forums about this.

air compressor
The air compressor works very well. I have 2 of them. they both have a similar problem …….. the nipple of the intake air in the pipe nipple is not a standard air ….. So if I want to change the type of pipe, the pipe included cheesy, I must take the lead compressor and get a tap NPT, and re-wire the head. Compressors 2, I have both types of hillocks, and the nipple is not an NPT standard …….. if the pipes are not compatiable with each other. Whoever does the quality control should know, and ask someone to look at this problem. I will not buy another.

air compressor
worked like a champ! I have an RV with tires that require 115 psi. this was not a problem for this compressor. The RV also has an “air ride” system for the axels and the 5th wheel hitch. This compressor had not problem filling the system to the required level. good price
